Formation Of Residents Association

Due to the poor performance by the company tasked to undertake the maintenance of open areas around the Bett Homes, Persimmon Homes, George Wimpy and Stewart Milne housing developments in Kintore, the residents living in these developments got together to tackle the problem collectively and thus formed a Residents Association on the 10th October 2006 named the Hall Forest Residents Association

The name was derived from the main road ‘Hall Forest Avenue’ upon which the associated development are located on and also Hall Forest Castle located nearby.

A Residents Association is a group of people living on an estate or in a buliding who decide to come together and do something collectively about thier homes and the area they live in.  A residents association can give residents a better say on how things are run and allow them to work together to, rather than as individuals, to find solutions to problems affecting the area.  This could include a number of activities such as building works, play facilities, social activities, security and the repair and maintenance of common areas.More...

Although the Hall Forest Residents Association exisits to work towards protecting the interests of residents living in new private estates from issues specific only to them; being part of the community of Kintore, the Hall Forest Residents Association also works towards supporting the rest of the community within Kintore on common issues that affect all residents living within Kintore and the surrounding area.

The main objectives of the Hall Forest Residents Association are to:

a) Safeguard and promote the interest of residents in the developments on matters concerning housing and the environment.

b) Foster good public relations and encourage social activities in conjunction with other organisations in the area.

c) Help to improve living conditions, community facilities and services for residents living in and around the group’s area.
