When out walking last night, I was dismayed at how poor some of the areas were just around my house. Just a month or two ago, these areas looked OK, but they have been badly neglected since. (more…)
As part of a zero tolerance approach Police have vowed to crack down on unruly revellers.  Officers made eight arrests last weekend in Inverurie, ranging from breach of the peace to assault. Of the eight arrests, three were women (two aged 18 and one 24) and five were males (aged between 16 and 26). All of those dealt with had been drinking.Â
A police spokesman said: “Behaviour which can be interpreted as threatening or disturbing to those members of the public out enjoying themselves will not be tolerated and I can assure the communities of Aberdeenshire that Grampian Police will take a hard line on the minority of people who act in this way. A similar stance will be taken by officers patrolling this weekend and indeed in future.”
After many months of renovations, the old newsagent shop next door to the Post Office appear to be almost ready to open.
The signpost for “Kintore Tandoori Takeway” went up yesterday with the telephone number 633311.
Hopefully it won’t be long before this long-awaited addition to Kintore’s growing list of eating places is open, and serving lovely Indian food to the community.
We’ll post up more information about an opening date and hours once we find out.
Kintore seemed to escape the flash flooding that disrupted roads all over the north-east yesterday following torrential downpours
It is understood that West High Street in Inverurie town centre had to be closed due to the drains being unable to cope with the amount of water coming down. Shops and businesses along the street had close and block off the bottom of their doors due to water waves caused by cars driving past until the water level abated 20 minutes later.
The rainfall also caused a manhole cover to pop off in Jesmond Drive in Bridge of Don Aberdeen due to the force of the water where the water was reported to be 9in deep at places.
A police spokesman said it seemed to be an extremely heavy downpour which had started in the north of Aberdeenshire and made its way south. No other roads appeared to have been affected by the rain, he added.
