Car Sharing
Almost 90% of traffic at peak times has only one driver behind the wheel.  If everyone who drives on their own to work were just to share a car with someone else on the same journey just once a week, the volume of traffic on the road would reduce by 25%.  In addition to cutting down congestion, car sharing allows you to take a back seat from driving from time to time, reduces the cost of driving your car considerably and allows you to do your bit for the environment.

If you are interested in car sharing, visit the following national schemes and check if their databases have someone recorded that you can car share with.

> Dyce TMO Lift Share

> National Car Share

> Lift Share

Your company may already have a scheme in place.

Park and Ride
Park and ride allows you to park your car at each centre located on the outskirts of Aberdeen City for free and pay on £1.80 per person (up to 2 children under the age of 16 can travel free when accompanied by an adult) for a round trip into Aberdeen City center.  Buses depart every 10 minutes during peak service and 15 minutes during off-peak service.

Park and ride parks into Aberdeen city centre are available at Bridge of Don and Kingswells.  Additional park and ride schemes are setup for special occasions such as the festive holidays.  For more details about Aberdeen's park and ride scheme, click here.
