Introduction

For the community to grow strong, it is important that information is shared effectively between all within the community.  It was determined by the Residents Association at its first meeting that the most effective way it could convey information to the community would be via a web site.

The Residents Association will make information it receives available as soon as possible together with updates on initiatives that it has undertaken.  A forum has also been included to allow members to raise concerns and voice their views on any matter concerning them.  All in all, it is hoped that this website will be a powerful to help protect and develop our community spirit, whilst promoting and protecting our interests.  (Click here for More...)

About Kintore

The village of Kintore is situated around 12 miles west of the centre of Aberdeen, just off the A96 trunk road that runs from Aberdeen to Inverness.   The area has always been a popular settlement area since pre-historic times.  Archaeological excavations have found 44 neothlithic round houses and remains dating back as far as 5,000 years BC (more than any other place in Scotland) and the most northerly Roman camp in Britain.

Established in the late 12th century as a Royal Burgh, Kintore had it's Royal Charter renewed by King James IV in 1506.  The population in the 2001 census was 2,100 inhabitants though this has continued to grow considerably since due to extensive housing development.
