Eating In & Out

Information last updated by HFRA Chairman on 29 April 2006.

Few regions anywhere can boast so much fine food and drink and there is no better place to tempt your taste buds than in the landscape that inspired them.  Discover the finest food and drink in Kintore and the surrounding Grampian area - home to an unbelievable wealth and variety of fresh produce that inspires even the most creative chef.  Aberdeen Angus Beef, Cullen Skink, Butteries, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Shortbread, Malt Whisky like you have never tasted before are just a few of the delicacies that will make a visit memorable for food and drink enthusiasts.

The area is famed for its famous family owned businesses such as Walkers Shortbread, Mackie’s Ice-Cream, Baxters of Speyside, but who can forget Scotland’s most famous export – the finest Malt Whisky.  The Grampian Highlands is home to more than half of Scotland’s distilleries and you can sample some of the best malts on the world’s only Malt Whisky Trail.

For a small town, Kintore boasts many facilities within it that would not be normally found in a town of it's size.  It at the time of writing has three restaurants, two pubs, two coffee shops, a fish and chip shop, a pizza home delivery and a  chinese takeaway.  Within a short drive there is multitude of many fine hotels, restaurants and other take away establishments that would make any city dweller not feel that they were missing any of the luxuries of living in the city.
