The area around Kintore boats a wide range of shops and services that rival the likes of those found in Aberdeen, maybe not in size, but definitely in quality.  General community information is provided below:

ATM

Kintore: One opposite Kintore Arms, located in the Square and one at Somerfield Essentials, located on Northern Road.
Inverurie: Can be found at branches of the Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale, Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds TSB, Safeway supermarket and Tesco supermarket.

Banks

Since the closure of Clydesdale Bank's branch in Kintore in 2005, there has not been a permanent bank in Kintore.  Branches of  Bank of Scotland, Clydesdale, Royal Bank of Scotland and Lloyds TSB can be found in Inverurie.  All other major high street banks can be found in Aberdeen. 

 

However, basic banking facilities are available at Kintore Post Office for customers of most leading high street banks.  Click here to visit Post Office website for details.

 

The Royal Bank of Scotland's mobile bank also visits the Square in Kintore on a weekly basis for those who are unable to travel to Inverurie.  Please click here to visit their website for the latest times.

Car Wash

There is a jet wash system available at the Station Garage on Northern Road in Kintore.  Additional Jet Wash systems can be found at the BP filling station in Port Elphinstone (map).  Fully automated car washs can be found at Morrison's supermarket in Inverurie (map) and at the BP filling station (situated at the back of Lawerence of Kemnay Ford garage) in in Port Elphinstone, Inverurie (map).

Chemist

There is a chemist in Kintore and a small branch of Boots in Inverurie.  A selection of over the counter medicines can also be found at the Morrison's and Tesco supermarkets in Inverurie.

There is an unmanned fire station located within Kintore on Northern Road, next to the Fish & Chips shop.

  Local Radio Station

The main commercial local radio station in the area is Northsound One that broadcasts on 96.9FM.  Visit Northsound website for more information at www.northsound.co.uk.

 

North East Community Radio (NECR) broadcasts on 102.5FM next to the building beside the electricity substation, opposite the Torryburn Hotel.  For more information or to make special requests Tel: 01467 632878.

Petrol Station

The nearest petrol station is the BP Service Station located at the A96 roundabout to Port Elphinstone (map).  There is also an Esso filling station on North Street, Inverurie (map) and petrol can also be obtained both from the Morrison's (map) and Tesco (map) supermarkets.

Police Station

There is no longer a police station in Kintore and the nearest station is in Blackhall Road, Inverurie.  A room within Kintore's town hall is however used as a substation for officers to maintain focus within the local community.

Refuse & Recycables Collection

Household Refuse

Bins in Kintore are emptied on Wednesdays throughout Kintore with the exception of the stretch of the road after the Torryburn Hotel to the A96 which are collected on a Thursday. 

 

Changes to refuse collection in Kintore is underway to introduce a Kerbside Recycling service.  Households in Kintore are being supplied with a recycling box and a paper recycling bag.  For more information, visit the Aberdeenshire Council recycling website by clicking here.

 

When all households have received these collection will alternate each week between general refuse (i.e your wheelie bin) and recyclable refuse (i.e. the box and bag.  Rubbish for collection should be placed at the kerbside outside your property on the day.

 

Special Uplifts

Skip Hire

Supermarkets

There are branches of Morrisons (map) and Tesco (24 hour) (map) in Inverurie.  The nearest Asda is in Dyce (map) and the nearest Sainsbury is at Berryden Road, Aberdeen (map).

Tourist Information

There is an information board in The Square, behind the Town House.  A tourist information centre is situated inside the Town Hall in Inverurie.
